Spoiled Rotten in New Plymouth

You have to mean to go to New Plymouth. When you look at it on the map, you realize it’s not exactly on the beaten path. You don’t drive through it on your way to anywhere, really, since it sits all jutted out into the Tasman Sea on the west coast of the North Island.

But we had 2 reasons to visit New Plymouth. The first was gorgeous Mt. Taranaki in Egmont National Park. The second was a crazy connection with the people with whom we would end up staying. (more…)

Tackling Mt. Taranaki

It’s been a while since our last update, but we’ve definitely been busy. Now that we are back with a more reliable Internet connection, you can expect more updates from us.

Picking up where we left off, after our stay with Christian & Kirianne in Auckland, we visited Hobbiton (the actual movie set for Lord of the Rings and the upcoming movie The Hobbit. Unfortunately, we had to sign a confidentiality agreement and we aren’t allowed to post any of our pictures online. Suffice it to say it was pretty darn cool!) (more…)
